Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up to date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
-Patients are staggered to prevent entering and leaving at the same time
-COVID-19 screenings are done online on our website under the "Patient Forms & Online Payments" tab. Please fill this out within 24 hours of your appointment, before coming to the office, for a quicker check in.
-Reception desk for check-ins is closed. All check-ins are done from patient’s vehicles as indicated on signs posted in our parking lot.
-Once you text that you have arrived, we will verify your COVID form was received and text you when your provider is ready for you. The provider will meet you at the front door and check temperature with a sanitized thermometer. We require that you wear your own mask into the office. We will provide one for you if you have forgotten.
-Only patients may enter the office. (Spouses, caregivers, and friends need to wait outside. They can assist to the front door only. Only 1 parent allowed with children’s appointment)
-Patients are asked to come in wearing masks, to bring their own sunglasses (eye protection), and pens to sign any paperwork or receipts.
-Patients are asked to brush teeth (and floss) at home before appointment, single use toothbrushes will temporarily not be provided.
-Patients will be led to their room where they will be asked to wash their hands and swish with a pre-procedural rinse.
-Patient’s restroom is closed temporarily, will be open to emergencies only.
-Patients will NOT stop by front desk after appointment is complete, unless they need to schedule for restorative or hygiene extensive work or make a payment. (Hygiene recall will be scheduled with your hygienist during your appointment)
-All non-essential items are stored away, including toys, books, magazines, headphones, blankets, and pillows. If you would like to listen to music, you are welcome to bring your own headphones/music. If you require a pillow or blanket, you must bring your own in a bag.
-All supply delivery personnel must enter with masks on to deliver packages
-All staff is screened upon entry to the office.
-All staff will be wearing appropriate PPE including KN95 masks, goggles, shields, and lab coats.
-All aerosol sprays will be contained by using high vac suctions and rubber dams (when appropriate)
-Sanitization technician will be present (a roaming dental assistant) responsible for sanitizing all high touch areas throughout the entire office
-There will be a $20 PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) surcharge added to all appointments to help support these safety changes.
